Boo-frickin-ya! Man o' man, have I been looking forward to finally getting to participate in AFL2! Now that the Cranky Octopus [link] site is finally live I'm free to play! Woot! And I can't believe how much art has already been cranked out for this tournament. Geez, guys. Awesome stuff. :)

Fight 1! Bounce vs. :iconjasoncardy:'s RGB

Fortunately for Bounce, her older brother Rocket does a mean scouting report, so she knows to avoid RGB's chroma draining touch and weaponry. After RGB unleashes a brief and unsuccessful barrage of chroma arrows, she switches to a more personal fighting style. "Ah so," says Bounce in an atrocious mock-Japanese accent "your capoeira style is good! But it is no match for my free running style!" The two fighters dart to and fro, each striking and parrying with a series of twisting and acrobatic movements. As the fight wears on, and Bounce continues to avoid her opponent's strikes, RGB's power levels begin to drain... and Bounce moves in for the knockout blow.

...at least until Jason finishes his half of the fight, lol. ;) Definitely looking forward to that. And damn, how cool is RGB's design? --> [link]

Have I rambled enough yet? A few random things. RGB's pose started as a ginga, which is sort of the default movement in capoeira (which I did a little bit of in college). The background is a heavily edited stock photo from Getty Images. Other things Bounce thought about saying to her opponent include, but are not limited to:
"Yoink!"
"Maybe next time reconsider the heels."
"You meet such colorful characters in this line of work." (groan)

...and on that note, adieu. :D

Sweet buddy christ...I had a bit of a 'scuse me while I find my jaw' moment with this man. The action's just downright blinding and lord if the setting and perspective aren't goddamn awesome too.

We ain't seen you round these parts for a while but if you're gonna comeback this hard, big thumbs up from over here! Oh and while I'm at it, good luck with CO, it's shaping up pretty damn fine good sir :)

Btw, you ever wanna art trade, just say the word, I'd love to be drawin' the Bouncemeister some time :D

Hot damn, Gene! That's one contortionistic (is that even a word?) pose on Bounce there! Amazing action scene and as always a wonderful sense of perspective.

Welcome to the bloodbath! ;)

If it's not a word it needs to be, lol. And thanks, great to finally be here. :D

That's a bit good! Glad you finally made it to AFL! What was keeping you? Oh yeah, that. :D

Great sense of motion in this, and not just from the funky background - the figures have the usual Gene Kelly touch! RGB looks by far the more powerful but Bounce doesn't seem particularly concerned. Love the kick me sign - bit worried she's just going to make RGB mad though!

:+fav:, obviously!

Thanks, man! I've been away too long for my liking, but that's just the way it goes sometimes. Lots of projects to do, you know? Thanks for checking out the CO site too! We're all pretty excited about it. Glad people are liking it so far. When I get a little more time for some art trades I'll definitely hit you up. :)
