Read the Rocket & Bounce comic here --> [link]
While working on the Rocket & Bounce webcomic, I've been trying to get better at making these two look youthful. The proportions on this image have been tweaked. Being 15 (Rocket) and 14 (Bounce) years old, these two are closer to being 5.5 or 6 heads high, as opposed to 7+ like your typical super people. Slightly larger head and feet. Thinner limbs. Think along the lines of Avatar the Last Airbender or Stuart Immonen's Ultimate Spider-Man and you get the idea. ------------ Well here they are, my original heroes, those sensational super siblings, Rocket and Bounce. Rocket is the elder sibling by a year and tends to take his superheroing perhaps a little too seriously. His father, once the bouncing adventurer known as 'Jackrabbit', wasn't the most highly regarded hero and Rocket aims to be better than that. Bounce is far more able to enjoy the adventure and absurdity of superheroing and tries to get her brother to lighten up and enjoy the ride whenever possible. Their powers? Well, Rocket flies... rather fast. And Bounce... bounces. Makes sense, right? I went through lots of different designs for these two before finally finding one I was happy with. Hopefully you guys like it. And so you know, these two will be appearing in my web comic at Cranky Octopus [link] in late summer 08. Gene Rocket and Bounce © 2007 Gene Kelly |

Space is big. You just won't believe how vastly, hugely, mind- bogglingly big it is. I mean, you may think it's a long way down the road to the chemist's, but that's just peanuts to space.
Douglas Adams, The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy
Anyway, in no particular order, things I like...
Background! Good choice with the split background - really brings out the characters and gives the pic a much more 'finished' look to it than the preview I saw earlier! (er... which is I guess because it is finished... you know what I meant...)
Costume designs! Team but individual! like it
I also like the fact you've tried to steer clear of the 'superhuman physique' - lots of character!
Otherwise, very good!
